Fun Community Events to the World Stage
Calgary Fury is active all year long, hosting ball hockey events for every level of player in Calgary. Our fun, welcoming one-day tournaments are open to everyone, no experience necessary. Our competitive teams take the floor at Provincials and the Western Challenge Cup, and we've proudly watched Fury alumni go on to compete at national and world championships.
Every event, at every level, is a chance for our athletes to compete, grow, and represent this community with pride.

CBHA Western Challenge Cup
The CBHA Western Challenge Cup is Fury's chance to compete beyond Alberta, taking on the best ball hockey clubs from across western Canada on a bigger stage. Known as the WCC, this is western Canada's premier competitive youth ball hockey tournament.
Hosted by the Canadian Ball Hockey Association, the tournament takes place in the second weekend of July each year and rotates to host cities across western Canada. Past locations have included Surrey, Saskatoon, and Edmonton.
2026 Western Challenge Cup (dates updated annually)

- Location: Edmonton, AB
- Divisions: U11, U13, U17, and U19

A teams only
The Western Challenge Cup draws the strongest clubs from across Western Canada, so the level of competition is significantly higher than what teams see at Provincials. For that reason, Fury sends only its A teams to represent the club at this tournament. If competing at Westerns is a goal for your player, that's something to keep in mind when trying out in the spring. See the BHA Provincials section above for tryout and registration details.
CBHA Nationals - The Jack Cup
National tournaments are held across Canada throughout the summer, with events running from June through August in cities from coast to coast. While Fury doesn't send club teams to Nationals, we've had many Fury players earn a spot on teams competing at this level over the years, and every one of them makes us proud!
The national championship title comes with one of the sport's most storied trophies, the Jack Cup. Named in honour of John Forrest, Alan Tomalty, Paul Colter, and Ken White, the four pioneers who built ball hockey in Canada, the Cup has been awarded since 1978 and represents the highest achievement in the Canadian game.
ISBHF World Champtionships
The World Championships are the pinnacle of ball hockey, bringing together nations from around the globe to compete at the highest level. Tournaments are held throughout July and August, in host cities as far-flung as Bermuda, Slovakia, Czechia, and Great Britain.
Fury has had a player compete at Worlds, and not just compete, but win! Nik Stang suited up for Team Canada's men's U20 team and came home with a gold medal. That's a moment this club will always be proud of.
