Calgary Fury hosts four fun, inclusive one-day ball hockey tournaments throughout the year, bringing players and families together at every level of the game. Whether your player is just starting out or a seasoned competitor, our Calgary ball hockey tournaments are open to all and focused on what matters most, great hockey, great sportsmanship, and a great day.
Our tournaments are held across the season on key long weekends and holiday breaks:
- Thanksgiving weekend
- Die Hard tournament (between Christmas and New Year's)
- Family Day weekend
- Spring Snipes (Spring Break/Easter)
Each tournament follows a round-robin format with multiple games throughout the day across U9 to U18 age divisions. No experience necessary, just bring your gear and your enthusiasm.
What to expect on the day
- One-day format — multiple short games, round-robin style
- U9–U18 divisions — balanced by age; mixed experience welcome
- Focus — sportsmanship, teamwork, and meaningful reps, not standings
- Officials and safety — certified refs; respectful conduct required
- Gear — helmet with cage, gloves, shin guards, stick, indoor shoes, water bottle

Where are the Fury Fun Tournaments?

Who can register?
Anyone 8 to 14 can play. There are no coed rules - teams are put together once registration is closed. Players 15+ can register with Bobby at YYC Ball Hockey or email bobbyverloop@gmail.com
How do I register?
TeamSnap. Cost is $40 per player. Payment can be made when you register.
Can I request to play with a friend?
No. We do our best to create evenly skilled teams. In order to do so we need to have flexibility when we are placing players on the teams.
How many games are guaranteed?
There will be a minimum of 3 games for each team. All games are 4 on 4 with one 20 minute period.
How are the teams selected?
To ensure a fair and competitive tournament, teams will be created using a computer-generated randomizer that takes into account player ranking and skill levels. This process is designed to create well-balanced teams while maintaining an objective selection process.
Important details:
Randomized Team Selections: Teams will be formed based on rankings and skill levels.
Goalie Assignments: Goalies will be added after team selections.
No Friend Requests: To keep the teams as competitive as possible, we will not be considering player placement friend requests.
When are the schedule & rosters posted?
The schedule and rosters are posted via TeamSnap 4 days prior to the tournament.
Will jerseys be provided?
Each team will be given a colour. Players are asked to wear a shirt in their team's colour. Pinnies will be provided for those who need.

Tryouts are held each spring. Registration opens in February or March.
